We Are Exhibiting At nanoFabUK Symposium
20th June 2024
This year, Sentinel Gas Systems are exhibiting at #nanoFabUK Symposium (Tuesday 3rd September – 5th September), National Graphene Institute, University of Manchester, M13 9PL.
The nanoFabUK symposium will serve as a dynamic learning and networking platform for Research Technical Professionals (RTPs) that manage or work primarily in academic micro/nanofabrication and characterization facilities (cleanrooms) from around the UK (nanoFabUK)
This symposium is open to RTPs at any career level (apprentices/technicians, technical specialists/experimental officers, managers and directors) and wider micro/nanofabrication communities with a keen interest in cleanroom operations and management.

Overview of Event
The nanoFabUK symposium will serve as a dynamic learning and networking platform for Research Technical Professionals (RTPs) that manage or work primarily in academic micro/nanofabrication and characterization facilities (cleanrooms) from around the UK. This symposium is open to RTPs at any career level (apprentices/technicians, technical specialists/experimental officers, managers and directors) and wider micro/nanofabrication communities with a keen interest in cleanroom operations and management.
This event will serve as a nexus for key stakeholders to exchange insights, collectively discuss common challenges, and explore emerging trends in micro/nanofabrication. Through a series of talks, exhibitions, host site tours and social activities, participants will have the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions on a wide range of topics such as facility management, innovative techniques/processes, health and safety (H&S), cleanroom user education/training, financial administration, career development, and industry-academia interactions.
By fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and facilitating networking opportunities, the symposium will help break the current ‘silo working’ culture and cultivate a more vibrant community of expert cleanroom RTPs dedicated to pushing the boundaries of micro/nanofabrication technologies.
nanoFabUK
nanoFabUK is a national collaborative platform led by Research Technical Professionals (RTPs), designed to support and enhance the UK’s nanofabrication infrastructure. This initiative is led by the universities of: Manchester, Cambridge, Glasgow, Lancaster, Nottingham, Sheffield, Southampton, Swansea, Royal Holloway University of London, University College London and Imperial College London.
nanoFabUK’s vision is to connect nanofabrication RTPs across the country with the purpose of enhancing their expertise and stimulate innovation, through a range of knowledge exchange activities such as symposiums, technical workshops, and industry-led training events. The network will benefit not only RTPs who maintain this infrastructure, but also the academic and industrial end-users who rely on it through enhanced provision of nanofabrication services.
National Graphene Institute
National Graphene Institute (NGI) is a £61M facility housing over 300 users from academia and industry, and with a wealth of national and international partners. NGI’s capabilities include 1500m2 of ISO class 5 & 6 cleanrooms spread over two floors, dedicated to the research and production of novel devices exploiting the properties of graphene and other 2D materials.
